Happy Groundhog Day!

Well it looks like Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and that means 6 more weeks of winter.
If our winter here in NW Arkansas stays the same for the next six weeks it would be awesome.  We have had temps in the mid 60's.  Very mild and spring like weather for us here.  Love it.

I finished "Friends" by Shepherd's Bush.  This stitched up real quick.  I am going to order the mats and frame from Rensel Studios.  I just love the way she does the SB Mats.

I am 3/4 of the way done with "And They Sinned".  Down to the grass portion.  I have decided to stitch one motif each night.  I want to get this done in July then it will be 6 years in the making.  Started in July of 2006, and want to finish in July 2012.  Was hoping that I would have gotten it done last July but that did not happen.  I saw where Margaret has been stitching on this and it has really inspired me to want to get mine done.  Thank you Margaret.

In between the motif stitching I have started back on the WIP "Something Blue" by Brightneedle.  I am hoping to have this finished by this weekend.  (Pictures will be in next post.)

I also am going to play catch up this weekend and do the finishing on Merry Cox's "Swan Lake Mending Bag".  I don't have to much more and it will be finished.

Thank you for visiting.

  1. Your SB piece is looking so cute and "And They Sinned" will be stunning BAP! Merry's Swan Lake piece is one of my favorites among her projects. Shame on me didn't sign up for the class. But as seeing Jean's newsletter with her new projects offered for this year, I'm very tempted and not sure what I want to do!!

  2. I just realized you have no email listed under your blog! (I kept replying back to "no-reply blogger" dummy address! lol Anyhow, I'm leaving my reply here and hope it's ok with you.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I'm so happy to find you who also love urns! I haven't seen/heard anyone else so far who particularly likes stitching those. I stitched two more since my last post :)

Thank you for a kind word about my color selection. I actually have a lot of great eyes around as picking the threads at the Attic. I always ask people around to see what they say.
My allergy seems to be getting better. I'm on the third medication now and hoping it will help better soon. I just want a quiet life back to me!! - no sneezing all day long, no itchy nose!!!

  3. Love your SB finish! Beautiful! Good for you on ATS too. Glad to have inspired you. I need to get back to it myself. lol! I don't blame you for picking the Friesland Winders Keepers. I love blue and green as well, so that one called to me too. But what ruled it out for me -- and maybe I was wrong? -- was that I was assuming the Friesland style has lots of those little curlicue backstitches?? I don't like stitching those. lolol!
